I was told that the Studio Driver was optimized for Adobe and Vegas I have not pulled out the studio driver yet I mentioned that the black frames show up in the render Yep thats it, but the problem is not even just a realtime preview, it renders it the same way with black frames, have you tried regular non studio drivers? Restarting the program seems to fix it but I can't keep rebooting Vegas every time I add a new clip to the timeline This is what I am seeing in the preview and the rendered version I just updated to the most recent Studio Driver and the black frame issue seems even worse now with the iPhone X footageįolder: C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\so4compoundplugĬompany: MAGIX Computer Products Intl. please give me some help as i was ready to buy nvidia card for my computer but if this is the problem then its worthless. If i turn off Hardware decoding no problem, this is with latest nvidia studio drivers. With hardware decoding turned on in File I/O and Nvidia im getting random BLACK frames in the video in both timeline playback/preview at all quality settings as well as final render. Sometimes restarting Vegas will resolve the issueĪnother issue with different hardware, this is on my laptop with nvidia 2060mobile In this particular case I was using the most recent version of Neat Video 5 on this video clip when exporting but I have seen black frames without it as well. I found that I could avoid the issue by not using the GPU (RTX 2080ti card) for the export and use the MainConcept export insteadĬom. : +38.9049-077.0494+028.454/Ĭom. : T21:46:43-0500įormat/Info : High Efficiency Video CodingĬodec ID/Info : High Efficiency Video Codingįormat/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity When trying to transcode/export this type of file out of Vegas 17 (most recent build) I sometimes get a few random black frames I have had similar issues with iPhone HEVC files in Vegas 16 and 17 Then put that file into the same folder as your video file, and run the command I posted above but change the "test.mp4" into the correct name of the file you want to transcode. Please screenshots of the MediaInfo of the source, the projectproperties, the previewscreen plus toolbar. You have to unpack the file called "ffmpeg.exe" which is located in the "bin" folder. Premier should have no issues decoding that, and chances are it will perform better than the HEVC file as well. DNxHR is a format specifically designed for video editing. This will take the file "test.mp4" and then create a copy of it called "output.mov" that will be in the DNxHR HQ format. \ffmpeg.exe -i ".\test.mp4" -c:v dnxhd -profile:v dnxhr_hq -c:a copy "output.mov" I don't have much experience with intermediate formats, but here is am example of how to convert to that using FFmpeg: Since you're on version 21 you might not be a high priority though.ģ) Transcode the HEVC file into some other format and then work on that. Probably depends on how many are affected. This might be quick, or it might take months. It's better than not being able to work on your files.Ģ) Wait for a fix to get released. I know you said you don't want to, but maybe you have to for the time being. I don't really have a fix for your problem, but since this seems to be a fairly widespread issue my suggestions would be:ġ) Try installing a different version of Premier. This is why proprietary codecs need to die. Ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhqĬopy and paste this link in your browser. (Yes I'm one of those editors that used it frequently and would love to stick to Premiere 21 until Adobe comes to senses and actually fixes that Q button.) The HEVC files will play without issue on Premiere 22 on the new PC but I'm not willing to switch over because of the Q button ripple delete shortcut they "fixed". I have updated all drivers and even tried installing other codecs to no avail, so any help or guidance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I found that I had installed K-Lite codec pack on my previous PC so I did the same on the new one but it still wouldn't play H265 files. It fails to import and keeps telling me that the HEVC codec is missing. Only problem is that now the HEVC files wouldn't play on Premiere 21 anymore. This is my upgraded PC that I put together last week: I had Premiere Pro 2021 installed on the PC and it played HEVC mp4 files without issue. I recently upgraded from my soon-to-be-outdated-but-still-worth-it editing rig which was: I'm a video editor and I use Premiere Pro to edit all my videos (honestly I'm stuck with Adobe just like LTT) Hi all, after scouring the internet and failing at finding a solution, I'm hoping to find some answers here.
